Abstract:

Objective:To assess the clinical value of metagenomic next-generation sequencing (mNGS) of cerebrospinal fluid in diagnosis of neurological infectious disease. Methods:Patients who were clinically diagnosed with neurological infectious treated in Department of Neurology,Affiliated Hospital of Hebei North University from May 2019 to May 2021 were retrospectively analyzed intotal 60,including the data of mNGS and traditional laboratory test of pathogens. Results:It was including 42 bacteria infection,16 viral infection and 2 parasitic infection. The accurate rate of bacteria, viral and parasitic by mNGS was 95.24%, 68.75% and 50%. The AUC of mNGS was 0.705 and the diagnostic value was medium. Compared with the diagnostic reference line with AUC=0.5,the difference was statistically significant ( P<0.05). Conclusion:ThemNGS is more sensitive evaluating the neurological infectious. It has advantages in accurate diagnosis of neurological infectious disease.
