Abstract:The extracellular signal regulated kinase( ERK) signal pathway plays a key role in the growth, proliferation, differentiation and survival of neurons and has important effects on synaptic plasticity and learning and memory in the brain. Therefore,ERK signaling pathway has become a hot research topic in the research of anti-depression mechanism. This paper reviews the role and mechanism of ERK signaling pathway in the pathogenesis and treatment of depression in recent years.

Key words:extracellular signal regulated kinase (ERK),signaling pathway,depression
