Studies so far has proved that mitochondrial dysfunction and energy metabolism disorders are early pathological phenomena. This review concentrates on two of the most prevalent neurodegenerative diseases: Alzheimer’s disease (AD) and
Parkinson’s disease(PD) and would be aimed to discuss the role of mitochondrial in pathogenesis of
neurodegenerative diseases, providing new direction for further research.
